Artist Bio

Elaine Chisholm is a multi-disciplined visual artist born in Dunbartonshire and currently based in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.  She has a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Art Practices and uses printmaking, sound, video, analogue photography, and digital media to investigate hidden histories found within the Scottish landscape, with a particular focus on plants.  Influenced by anthropology’s understanding of human life connected to materials, she aims to consider and share these throughout the processes and materials she uses within her work.  Other influences include process art, land art and artists Ana Mendieta, Richard Long, and Eva Hesse.
